Professor/Dr. Francis Hombhanje, MB BS (University of Papua New Guinea/Papua New Guinea, MSc   (Clinical   Pharmacology,   University   of   Aberdeen/UK),   MD   (Clinical pharmacology, University of Papua New Guinea). Formerly, Director of Centre for Health and Diagnostics (2010-2016) and Dean of Health Sceinces (2017-2009), Divine Word University/Papua New Guinea. Before that I was Dean of Faculty of Medicine (1998-2000) and senior lecturer in pharmacology (1990-2006), University of Papua New Guinea. Currently Professor of Health Research and Vice President, Divine Word University- Rabaul Campus/Papua New Guinea. I am Chairman of National Department of Health of Papua New Guinea Medical Research Advisory Committee, formerly foundation Chairman of National HIV/AIDS research in Papua New Guinea. I continue to conduct research in malaria including clinical trials and epidemiological studies of malaria in populations.  I have authored or coauthored 40 plus papers in peer reviewed scientific publications.I have experience as PI, clinical research designs, field and laboratory-based research and research designs, and chair and member of institutional Universities) research committees (including data and safety monitoring committees) related to clinical trials and longitudinal epidemiologic studies related to malaria. I continue to be a Basic Medical Sceinces editor of Papua New Guinea Medical Journal and serve as peer reviewer of several national and international journals.
